Port d’Alcudia and Alcudia on Mallorca, tourist center in the east

Posted by

Port d’Alcudia is a large tourist centre on the east coast of Mallorca. Port d’Alcudia actually only has 4,000 inhabitants, but the town seems much bigger. Port d’Alcudia stretches for many kilometres along the beach south towards Ca’n Picafort. It was one of the first tourist resorts on Mallorca. Some believe that the port and tourist resort has already seen its heyday.

It is predominantly a family holiday resort. But some young people also come to Port d’Alcudia. The town has the biggest nightlife on the east coast of Mallorca, but it is not comparable to Ballermann or Magaluf. Dozens of discos in Port d’Alcudia provide entertainment during the season. It is predominantly a German holiday resort, but you can also meet English people. Port d’Alcudia is considered a cheap holiday resort. Almost all tourists have booked a package holiday. Nevertheless, you can always find a cheap room in Port d’Alcudia. If you are looking for a holiday apartment on Mallorca, you will find many, and above all cheap, offers on the beautiful beach of Alcudia. It can only be a little more difficult in the absolute high season (July/August).

The area around Port d’Alcudia is ideal for hiking and cycling. As the landscape is partly mountainous, cyclists should be in good shape. The helpful tourist information office can help you plan hikes and bike tours.

Port d’Alcudia consists mainly of large hotels, snack bars, bars, discos, mid-range restaurants, cafes and small supermarkets. In the town center there is a wide beach promenade with a marina, cafes and shops. The hotels are mostly located in the south along the beach, right in Ca’n Picafort. The beach is one of the longest and most beautiful on Mallorca. As the beach is very long, you can find a nice spot on the beach even in summer, especially further away from the town.

A major disadvantage of Port d’ Alcudia is the wide, busy road towards Ca’n Picafort, which separates the beach from most of the hotels.
